Desde las elecciones generales de Junio del 2015, más de 500 personas han muerto en el Estado turco como resultado de la escalada militarista del régimen de Erdoğan, patrocinado por la OTAN. Estas cifras incluyen los brutales atentados contra manifestaciones pro-kurdas en Ankara en Octubre –más de 100 muertos- y Pirsûs (Suruç) en Julio –más de 30. En ambos casos, existen fundadas sospechas de que los tentáculos del Estado profundo de Turquía habrían practicado estos actos de terror en contra de la población inerme. Esta violencia ha sido azuzada por el partido en el poder, el AKP, pues no había podido lograr mayoría absoluta en ese entonces; en Julio, el gobierno turco pateó la mesa de negociaciones de paz que se sostenía con la insurgencia kurda, el PKK. En medio de la escalada militarista, la violencia, el terror, el miedo, la censura, la persecución a opositores, fueron utilizadas como armas para garantizar una mayoría en las nuevas elecciones convocadas para Noviembre. Desde Julio, 17 alcaldes vinculados al partido opositor HDP, que aglutina a sectores pro-kurdos y de izquierda turca, han sido arrestados, 25 más destituidos de su cargo y 6 han recibido orden de arresto. El terror, sumado al clientelismo y el fraude, lograron garantizar una pírrica victoria para el AKP. Victoria pírrica, sin duda, porque el régimen ha perdido cualquier rastro de legitimidad en esta “guerra electoral”, a lo cual hay que sumar la enorme evidencia que vincula a sectores del partido del gobierno con el Estado Islámico en Siria.
Los territorios de Bakur, o norte de Kurdistán –aquella región del sudeste del Estado turco- han sido militarizados y se reportan graves violaciones que persisten después de las elecciones, según lo denuncia un llamado urgente a la solidaridad emitido por la Unión de Municipalidades del Sur de Anatolia (GABB). Según este comunicado, el toque de queda y la militarización han sido impuestos en Gever, en el distrito de Sur en Amed (Diyarbakır), en Silvan, en Kerboran (Dargeçit), en Silopiya (Silopi), en Cizîr (Cizre), en Nisêbîn (Nusaybin). Solamente en el distrito de Sirnak, (donde se encuentran Silopiya y Cizîr) se han enviado tanques, artillería y 10.000 tropas, mientras se esperan 5.000 más en los próximos días. Los manifestantes, que exigen el re-establecimiento de las libertades y el término de la militarización, son reprimidos y asesinados por fuego indiscriminado y francotiradores. En Silopiya y Cizîr más de 80 civiles han muerto a manos de las fuerzas represivas turcas.
El pueblo ha respondido profundizando la movilización y su proyecto político. En medio de todas las adversidades imaginables, han vuelto a poner su programa transformador en el centro del debate, agitando las banderas de la descentralización y el auto-gobierno para las municipalidades adheridas a GABB. Este proceso de cambio liderado desde abajo, pone en tela de juicio su proyecto centralizador y autoritario, en el que se mezclan el militarismo propio del Estado heredado con las ínfulas de califato que se dan los conservadores del AKP. El régimen de Erdoğan teme a que el valiente ejemplo dado por el pueblo kurdo sea replicado por la población turca en el Oeste del país, que ya fue sacudida en 2013 por las protestas del parque Gezi en Estanbul.
Hoy, en que la resistencia se convierte más que nunca en un derecho, la GABB termina su comunicado solicitando la presencia de medios de información en las zonas de conflicto, delegaciones de derechos humanos, visitas de delegaciones internacionales a los presos políticos, llamados internacionales a levantar la militarización de los territorios, a retomar las negociaciones de paz con el PKK y a terminar la política de silencio –que no es más que complicidad- de la comunidad internacional en torno a los crímenes del Estado turco. Extendemos este llamado a no permitir que este mundo nuevo sea ahogado en sangre, como pretenden tanto el régimen de Ankara como los oscurantistas del Estado Islámico.
