La Política de Seguridad de Metro se encuentra en jaque, tras el llamado realizado por sus conductores para exigir soluciones concretas al directorio de la empresa. “Ya no es posible pasar por alto las constantes vulneraciones a los procedimientos que comprometen la seguridad trabajadores y usuarios”, sostienen.
Durante el mes de marzo iniciaron movilizaciones que culminaron con una gran protesta en la estación Baquedano. En dicha oportunidad, protestaron por el procedimiento al que estaban sometidos ante las amenazas de bombas: el protocolo de la empresa exigía a los conductores transportar cualquier objeto sospechoso, pese a las dimensiones de lo sucedido en Escuela Militar cuando un explosivo dejó a catorce personas lesionadas en diciembre del 2014.
Denuncian además que durante el mes de marzo, Metro trasladó dos trenes con pasajeros en hora punta con las puertas liberadas (sin seguro), desde estación Tobalaba hasta Universidad Católica, “exponiendo a los pasajeros al riesgo de caer a las vías pudiendo tener consecuencias fatales”, asegura el comunicado del sindicato.
La situación se hizo insostenible el día viernes 24 de Julio, durante una avería nivel de vías, entre las estaciones San Pablo y Neptuno; Metro obligó a los conductores en formación, a realizar servicio con pasajeros, “sin haber completado a cabalidad el proceso de formación” y “sin sus implementos de trabajo mínimos”, denuncian.
De acuerdo al secretario vocero del sindicato Fabián Pizarro, “Estamos levantando la voz para decir que los trabajadores de Metro ya no estamos dispuestos a asumir riesgos innecesarios”. Al cierre de la jornada, la empresa no emitió ningún tipo de declaración.
